About Us

Save The Hood First wasn't formed to check a box. We started it because we've seen what happens when a neighborhood is left to figure it out alone, and we've also seen what happens when that same neighborhood gets the tools, the support, and the people who show up for it.

Our mission is simple, even if the work isn't always easy:

To lead positive social change and demonstrate the importance of community by strengthening neighborhoods through education, leadership development, advocacy, community engagement, and collective care.

That means workshops that actually help. Events that bring us back together. Leaders who come from the block, not outside of it. And care that doesn't come with a waitlist or a catch.

 

We believe lasting change happens when communities have the tools, the relationships, and the opportunities to care for one another. Not one-time fixes. Not band-aids. The real, ongoing work of showing up for each other.
